About

What is hungr?

Hungr is a cross-platform Android/iOS dynamic grocery list app with the goal of being easy to use and convenient for practical use.

Why did we make it?

The idea of the app was to take a traditional grocery list and add multiple features that make this app more convenient, unique, and simple to use. One of the more unique design features is the idea of being a dynamic grocery list. This means that users in a group will have their grocery lists automatically synced so that everyone is up to date on changes in the list. With this, shopping with family and friends becomes easier to use and manage.

1. Making a personal, locally stored grocery list
2. Firebase authenticated account making
3. Firebase authenticated logging in and logging out
4. Firebase authenticated password recovery
5. Ability to join a group with friends or family members
6. Adding grocery items that are visible to all group members
7. Remove grocery items added by oneself
8. Full backend support for group functionalities
9. Usable offline as a single-user app, totally stored locally, without requiring account creation

1. Dart - Used to build the android and ios apps
2. Python - Used for app backend and api calls
3. SQLite - Used to store data of grocery lists and users
